San Francisco 3, Milwaukee 1

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Jeff Kent and Benito Santiago hit ninth-inning homers off reliever Luis Vizcaino to lift the San Francisco Giants to a 3-1 victory Sunday over the Milwaukee Brewers and a timely sweep of the three-game series.

Milwaukee starter Ben Sheets allowed just three hits over eight innings, walking two and striking out six. But Vizcaino came on to start the ninth and gave up homers three pitches apart.

After retiring Rich Aurilia on a foulout, Vizcaino (5-2) surrendered Kent's 37th homer, a shot into the left field seats on a 1-1 pitch that gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.

Barry Bonds grounded out on the first pitch he saw and Santiago took a strike before launching a shot over the center field fence for his 16th homer.

Felix Rodriguez (8-6) got the final out in the eighth to get the win. Robb Nen gave up one hit in the ninth for his 41st save of the season and 312th career, moving past Tom Henke into sole possession of 11th place on the all-time list.
