During an offseason in which they added high-priced free-agent center Bobby Holik and defenseman Darius Kasparaitis, the Rangers agreed to terms with the 25-year-old right wing.

Dvorak collected 17 goals, including three shorthanded, and 20 assists for 37 points with 14 penalty minutes in 65 games last season. The Czech Olympian missed the final 14 contests of the 2001-02 campaign after suffering a torn right ACL and sprained right MCL against the Boston Bruins on March 13.

Dvorak enjoyed his best season in 2000-01, his first full campaign with the Rangers, when he recorded 31 goals and 36 assists.

The 6-2, 200-pounder has tallied 128 goals and 171 assists for 299 points with 162 penalty minutes in 529 career NHL games for the Florida Panthers and the Rangers.
