After Cobourne scored on runs of one and three yards, Marshall tossed touchdown passes of six yards to Moe Fofana and 16 yards to Josh Bailey to give the Mountaineers a 28-0 halftime lead.

Cobourne, who surpassed 1,000 yards in 1999 and last season, is trying to become the first West Virginia running back since 1940 to lead the team in rushing four straight years.

The Mountaineers recorded 30 first downs while holding Chattanooga to seven. They enjoyed a 560-150 domination in total offense.

West Virginia tacked on three touchdowns in the fourth quarter before the Mocs avoided the shutout on Justin Barnes' five-yard pass to Joey Peters as time expired.
