SEATTLE, July 6 (UPI) -- Torri Hunter capped an eight-run outburst in the seventh inning with his third career grand slam and Eric Milton pitched his first complete game of the season as the Minnesota Twins rallied Friday night for an 8-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
After cruising through six innings with a four-run lead, Seattle starter James Baldwin allowed three straight hits in the seventh, including a two-run homer to Jacque Jones, before giving way to righthander Jeff Nelson.
Nelson (1-1) provided little relief, surrendering five runs and three hits while walking two and throwing a wild pitch.
With the game tied, 4-4, and two runners on, Nelson intentionally walked lefthanded-hitting Doug Mientkiewicz to face Hunter, who bats righthanded. The move backfired when the All-Star center fielder hit a 3-1 offering over the wall in right-center field to end the Twins' nine-game losing streak against Seattle.
Milton (10-6) recorded his first career win against the Mariners after going 0-5 with an 11.25 ERA vs. them. He allowed four runs and seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts in his ninth career complete game.
