Minnesota 11, Texas 4

ARLINGTON, Texas, May 28 (UPI) -- Jacque Jones hit Minnesota's first grand slam of the season and tied a career high with five RBI Tuesday night as the Twins handed the Texas Rangers their 10th loss in 11 games, 11-4.

With one out in the top of the second, Corey Koskie was hit by Chan Ho Park (1-2). Following Bobby Kielty's flyout, A.J. Pierzynski doubled to advance Koskie to third base. After Denny Hocking walked to load the bases, Jones clubbed Park's 2-2 offering just inside the right field foul pole to stake the Twins to a 4-0 lead.

It was Jones' second career grand slam. His first came off Jimmy Haynes on July 12, 2001 at Milwaukee.

After Kielty led off the top of the fourth with a walk, Pierzynski drove him in with a triple. One out later, Jones doubled in Pierzynski to make it 6-0.

The Rangers got three back in the bottom of the frame. Alex Rodriguez led off the inning with his American League-leading 15th home run off Twins starter Tony Fiore (3-1). Carl Everett added a sacrifice fly and Bill Haselman an RBI single to make it 6-3.

Rodriguez and Rangers manager Jerry Narron were ejected in the middle of the fifth inning by umpire Greg Gibson for arguing a successful stolen base by Koskie in the top of the frame.

Fiore, who was making his second career start, allowed three runs and four hits in 5 1/3 innings en route to earning the Twins' third straight victory.

Park lasted just 3 1/3 innings -- his shortest outing of the season -- and was roughed up for six runs and four hits. He walked four batters and struck out two.
