Cincinnati 8, Milwaukee 5

CINCINNATI, May 6 (UPI) -- Sean Casey went 4-for-4, including three doubles, and Adam Dunn hit his first career grand slam and drove in five runs as the Cincinnati Reds snapped out of their offensive funk in an 8-5 triumph over the Milwaukee Brewers Monday night.

Casey entered the game hitting .276 with no homers and just 12 RBI. But he doubled in the first, second and fourth innings and delivered a key two-run single in the sixth. Casey, a career .309 hitter, drew an intentional walk in the eighth.

Casey entered the game with just three extra-base hits in 98 at-bats but became the first Red to have three doubles in a game since Hal Morris accomplished the feat on Aug. 17, 1996.

Billy Hatcher is the last Red to have four doubles in a game, achieving the feat on Aug. 21, 1990.

Casey also had been 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position since April 24 but came through with a base hit in the sixth inning that extended Cincinnati's lead to 7-4.

Reds starter Joey Hamilton allowed three runs and five hits in 3 1/3 innings but was forced to leave the game in the fourth inning when he strained his left hamstring covering first base.
