Naslund had eight goals and 13 assists in 14 games for the Canucks, who went 10-2-1-1 in January, tying the franchise record for most victories and points in a month.

Vancouver's captain, Naslund had points in 13 of 14 games, including his second hat trick of the season and the sixth of his career in a 5-1 win over Nashville on Monday.

A native of Sweden, Naslund has 58 points, tying him for the league lead in scoring with Calgary's Jarome Iginla, and is on pace to set career-high single-season goal and point totals for the second straight year.

Naslund will play in the All-Star Game on Saturday in Los Angeles and represent Sweden in the Olympics at Salt Lake.

Also considered for the award were Canucks left wing Todd Bertuzzi, St. Louis Blues goaltender Brent Johnson and Kings goalie Felix Potvin.
