PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Rasheed Wallace and Scottie Pippen turned up the intensity in the fourth quarter and turned back the Los Angeles Clippers, powering the Portland Trail Blazers to a 119-101 victory Thursday night.

Wallace, an All-Star power forward and Portland's top scorer and rebounder last season, made just 1-of-6 shots through three quarters. Pippen, one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players, was just 1-of-8 entering the final period.

As a result, the Trail Blazers fell behind by 14 points in the first half and still trailed 84-82 heading into the final 12 minutes before Wallace and Pippen took over.

Wallace had a blocked shot and forced a turnover, leading to a 3-pointer by Derek Anderson and a jumper by Pippen that began a 22-6 surge. Wallace and Pippen each had three baskets in the run that opened a 104-90 lead with 5:22 remaining.

Anderson scored 26 points and Bonzi Wells added 24 for Portland, which shot 51 percent (44-of-86) and beat Los Angeles at home for the fifth straight time and 18th in the last 19 meetings in the City of Roses.
