The Mavericks led just 85-82 after three quarters but used a 12-6 run to open the fourth. Nash and Griffin each had three points during the spurt.

Dirk Nowitzki, who signed a multi-year contract extension earlier in the day, finished with 14 points and six rebounds.

Grant Hill scored 27 points to lead Orlando, which once again played without leading scorer Tracy McGrady. McGrady suffered a lower back strain on October 14 and will miss the rest of the preseason in preparation for Tuesday's season opener.

Horace Grant and reserve guard Troy Hudson each added 14 points for the Magic (3-4). Hill also had eight rebounds and six assists.
