San Antonio 107, New York 90

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Malik Rose scored 22 points and Tim Duncan added 20 and 13 rebounds Friday night as the San Antonio Spurs remained unbeaten in the preseason with a 107-90 victory over the New York Knicks.

Bruce Bowen scored seven points and Steve Smith chipped in with five as San Antonio (4-0) used an 18-9 run to take a 54-41 lead with 44 seconds left in the first half. The lead grew to as many as 18 points in the second half and the Knicks could get no closer than nine.

Rose made seven of 10 shots and also pulled down eight rebounds for San Antonio, which overcame one of nine shooting from David Robinson. First-round draft pick Tony Parker continued his impressive play with 10 points in 21 minutes at point guard.

The Spurs shot 45 percent and made half of their 18 three-point attempts.

Latrell Sprewell scored 18 points and Kurt Thomas finished with 16 for New York (3-3), which was outrebounded, 47-34. Reserve Shandon Anderson scored 13 points and starting center Felton Spencer fouled out with eight.

New York again used just two of its three point guards as Charlie Ward did not see action. Mark Jackson started and collected seven points and six assists while Howard Eisley scored 12 points and handed out four assists.

Knicks center Marcus Camby sat out with a sore left foot.
