More peanut products are recalled

WASHINGTON, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Hundreds of possibly tainted peanut products have been recalled across the United States and Canada and the recall list is rapidly expanding.

The peanuts and peanut butter and paste used in the products were produced by a Peanut Corp. of America plant in Georgia and might be contaminated with salmonella bacteria, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

The latest recalled products include:

--Ocean Spray Inc.: Ocean Spray-brand fruit and nut trail mix products in 1.75-ounce and 48-ounce packages.

--The Kellogg Co.: Keebler-brand homestyle chocolate chunk cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies in 2.5-ounce packages and Special K Protein-brand honey almond bars in 6- and 8-count packages.

--The Caribou Coffee Co. Inc.: Caribou-brand fruit and nut blend trail mix in 3-ounce packages.

--Supervalu Inc.: Tin roof sundae ice cream sold under the Cub, Flavorite and Richfood brands at Cub Foods, Farm Fresh, Hornbacher's and Shoppers Food supermarkets.

--Eillien's Candies Inc.: Burnt peanuts, bridge mix, harvest mix and dark chocolate peanuts sold under the Mills Fleet Farm, Blains Farm, Zachary, Eillien's, Supreme Choice, First Choice, Primrose and EconoPac brand names.

--The Genisoy Food Co.: Genisoy-brand organic apple cinnamon soy protein bars.

--GKI Foods Inc.: All candy products containing peanuts sold under various brand names including Granola Kitchens, Albanese, Coastal Candy, Coblentz Fine Chocolates, Country Life Natural Foods, Garvey, Great Skott, Germack, New Century, Smith's, Troyer and Winco,

--The Kashi Co.: Kashi-brand chewy granola bars in trail mix and honey almond flax varieties, chewy granola bars in peanut butter, chewy cookies in oatmeal dark chocolate, happy trail mix and oatmeal raisin flax varieties.
