Raytheon in radar deal for Australian navy

TEWKSBURY, Mass., July 12 (UPI) -- Raytheon won a $72 million contract to provide the Australian navy with radar equipment for its air warfare destroyers.

The U.S. defense contractor will be providing system transmitters, hardware and spares for three Australian ships.

"Our extensive experience allows us to deliver superior, combat-proven solutions to war fighters who rely on our systems to meet the requirements of their missions, each and every time, with no doubt," said Dan Martin, vice president of maritime mission systems at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, which is part of the Raytheon group.
