Things didn’t go so well during the grand opening week of the Frisco Gun Club in Texas after an employee shot himself in the hand just 24 hours after the club opened its doors.

Police say that the incident at the $12 million facility was an accident and no foul play was suspected.

The vice president of marketing for the club, Brandon Johnson, explained what happened in a statement.

“On the evening of December 14, 2013, while assisting a member with a jammed firearm, an experienced range officer at the Frisco Gun Club slightly injured his hand when the firearm accidentally discharged while pointing downrange. The range officer was transported to Medical Center of Plano, where he was treated and released for injuries which were not life threatening. No other patrons or staff were injured in this incident.”

The handgun that accidentally misfired was a Ruger 9-millimeter. Following the shooting, an ambulance was called and business at the club went on as if nothing had happened.

With 40 indoor gun ranges and a retail showroom, The Frisco Gun Club is the largest indoor shooting range in the U.S.
