An Oregon City man who wanted to marry his girlfriend embraced his inner Mario and created a video game that gave him a unique way to propose to his princess.

When video game artist Robert Fink asked his girlfriend, web developer Angel White, to try out “Knight Man, A Quest For Love” she thought she was simply testing out a new game.

The game, which took Fink and two friends five months to create, did seem pretty normal at first. However, once White got to the end, things took an unexpected turn.

The words "I have searched far and wide and braved many dangers searching for my one and only” appeared on the screen as the hero approached the princess. “I believe with all my heart that I have found you.”

Then, the kicker:

"Angel White, will you do me the honor of sharing your life with me?"

She accepted via a final screen asking her to select "Yes" or "No."

"I was so excited, and so happy and nervous, and just exploding with emotion," White said. "It was awesome and then just realizing that he made this, it was incredible."
