(UPI) -- Michigan man Cory Peterson is set to appear in court in January to address charges that he exposed himself twice while masturbating at a McDonald’s drive-through back in September.

Peterson's case will be before a jury on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

According to court records, Peterson, 44, is charged with one count of aggravated indecent exposure. The penalty for the offense is usually two years, but Peterson’s previous felony convictions raise the potential penalty to 15 years in prison.

A 24-year-old female McDonald’s manager told police that she collected money from Peterson after he ordered a McDouble. When she turned back with Peterson's change, he was exposed and touching himself.

“I was in shock when I saw it,” the woman said. “He said, ‘Have a nice day.’ Then he drove away.”

The manager told police that Peterson then returned to the restaurant and exposed himself to another female employee. The employee told Peterson to park while they cooked his fries and 911 was called.

Officers found Peterson sitting in his truck with his pants zipped and his belt fastened. He denied exposing himself but was arrested at the scene.

In addition to multiple other convictions, Peterson’s criminal record includes a charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct from 2003. The sexual conduct conviction means that Peterson must register as a sex offender until late 2028.
