Officials said Trace's fish, which weighed 15.32 pounds and was measured at 28 inches long, is a new record for a largemouth bass caught in Lake Travis. The previous record, set in 1993, was 13 pounds.
"It was crazy," Trace told MySanAntonio.com. "It's almost unreal. I never thought I would catch a fish that big in my life."
Trace donated his catch to the TPWD Toyota ShareLunker Program, which works with biologists to spawn fish for Texas lakes.
