June 28 (UPI) -- Police officers in Texas wrangled an alligator found walking through a Walmart parking lot early Thursday morning.

Aransas Pass Police Department shared video of three officers attempting to restrain the alligator after it made its way out of a nearby body of water.

"Officers found this little 8-foot guy trying to sneak out of the pond for an after midnight shop at Walmart this morning," the department said.

Aransas Pass Police Department Captain Pierce told Texas' KRISTV the officers responded after a customer spotted the alligator in the parking lot.

No one was injured and Texas Parks and Wildlife took custody of the alligator.

Pierce said alligators aren't common in the area, but believes one has been spotted there before.
