Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe June 4 (UPI) -- A Florida school was placed on lockdown after a black bear was spotted wandering the neighborhood near the facility. Grace Community School in Fort Myers announced Monday morning that students and staff were being kept inside as a precaution after the bear was spotted wandering near the building. Advertisement "Police are attempting to catch the bear. In the meantime, all students and staff will remain indoors until we get an 'all-clear' from authorities," the school said in a Facebook post. Police and state wildlife officers responded to the area and were said to have cornered the bear about 8 a.m. in a nearby apartment complex, but it was unclear whether they planned to capture the animal or chase it away.
