"It seems that Spartanburg High School has the 'Bear' necessities this young bear is looking for," police said in a Facebook post. "We caught up with him just before dark when he was spotted trying to learn how to be a Viking at Spartan High," the post said. Police said the bruin appears to have a healthy fear of humans and left the scene on its own. Officers warned the public not to approach the bear. "Respect his power and admire from a distance. Bring in any pet food you have outside and secure your trash. Most importantly...do not leave the pot of honey for him!" police said. The Facebook post said no interruptions were expected for the school's schedule. Advertisement "Don't worry students! Mr. Stevens assured us that exams are still on for tomorrow," police wrote. "The schools grounds will be checked for any bears trying to disguise themselves as Vikings."
