Feb. 28 (UPI) -- An Australian administrator arriving for work in the morning discovered an unusual squatter spending the night inside the school -- a koala.

Fran Clarke, a worker in the school administration at Cobden Technical School in Victoria said she arrived for school Tuesday morning shortly after a janitor discovered the marsupial.

"I thought we'd been broken into," Clarke told The Standard newspaper. "Sitting up right on the couch was the koala. He didn't want to leave."

The school posted a photo to Facebook showing the koala camped out on the couch.

Clarke said the koala had apparently wandered into the building Monday night.

"No one knew he was here," she said.

The koala was escorted back outside the facility.

"He did do a bit of grunting when he left," Clarke said.
