Jan. 4 (UPI) -- A Florida sheriff's deputy captured a runaway goat and managed to carry it to safety before the animal could run into a major road.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office said in a Twitter post Thursday that a goat escaped from a Cooper City farm and was "apprehended" by Deputy Monica Jean.

"Goat apprehended and in custody!" the sheriff's office tweeted. "Deputy Monica Jean found this not so little guy in Cooper City after he ran away from his farm. Luckily for him, she caught him before he reached the main road!"

The photo shows Jean carrying the large goat to safety after the capture.
