Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A North Carolina woman driving home from collecting a $10,000 lottery prize stopped to buy another ticket, which won her $1 million.

Kimberly Morris of Wake Forest visited North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Monday to collect her $10,000 prize from a $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler ticket.

"I was shocked," Morris said. "It felt really great to win, but I really have always dreamed I would win $1 million!"

Morris' dream came true on her drive home, when she stopped at the Quality Food Mart in Raleigh and bought another of the same ticket -- which turned out to be a $1 million winner.

"I wasn't really expecting much," Morris said. "I just enjoy playing the lottery."

Morris called her husband, John, but found she had difficulty explaining the situation.

"She was freaking out on the phone," John said. "I couldn't understand her, so I told her to slow down. When I realized what she was saying, I didn't believe her at first. I had to come home and see it for myself."

Morris made a second trip to lottery headquarters Monday to collect her latest prize, which she took as a $600,000 lump sum that came out to $417,012 after required withholdings.
