Advertisement Madkami alerted his neighbors, who worked together to capture the big croc and tie it to a tree. Wildlife authorities were summoned to the village and they took the massive reptile to be relocated. Officials said the croc likely wandered into the village from the Satiguda dam, located less than a mile from the settlement. "There are some 30-40 crocodiles in the Satiguda dam. This one had perhaps slipped into the village, which is just a kilometer (.6 miles) away from the dam, to lay eggs," local forest official Sushant Nayak told the BBC. The crocodile was released into the Balimela reservoir, 37 miles from the village.
