Oct. 31 (UPI) -- More than two dozen people donned running shoes and their favorite dinosaur costumes for the second annual "T-Rex Stampede" in downtown Nashville.

The runners, clad in Tyrannosaurus Rex costumes, gathered Saturday in Nashville and ran across the the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and up to Broadway.

Organizers said the event, which started as a joke last year, had about 25 participants this year.

"I just wanted to say THANKS and GREAT JOB to everyone who participated on Saturday. It was super fun as always and I can't wait until next year! Stay tuned for more updates!" an organizer wrote on Facebook.

The organizers said they are considering adding a second run this year for Christmas.
