Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested an armed robber who attempted to conceal his identity with an unusual disguise -- a scuba mask.

The Largo Police Department said officers responded about 1:22 a.m. Tuesday to a Speedway gas station in Largo where the silent alarm had been triggered.

Officers arrived to witness a suspect, later identified as Geoffrey Chad Davis, 31, committing a robbery inside the convenience store while armed with a knife.

Davis' face was disguised with a scuba mask, police said.

Police surrounded the store, and a security video shared by the department on Facebook shows the suspect exit the store with a cart full of merchandise about an hour after the robbery began.

Officers moved in once Davis was a short distance from the door and they tackled him with the help of a K9 Unit as he attempted to run back into the business.

Two employees inside the Speedway were unharmed, police said.

Davis was arrested on charges of armed robbery and resisting an officer without violence. He was ordered held in lieu of $155,000 bond.
