Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe Oct. 19 (UPI) -- A Michigan man wanted on multiple misdemeanor warrants made good on a bet with police on Facebook and turned himself in with doughnuts. The Redford Township Police Department said in a Facebook post that Matthew Zaydel, 21, who uses the alias Champagne Torino on Facebook, responded to a post earlier this month and promised to turn himself in if police could get 1,000 shares on their post. Advertisement Zaydel also pledged to clean up litter from public school property and bring doughnuts to the police. "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!" police wrote. "Mr. Champagne Torino has issued the RTPD a challenge. As you can see below, if we can have this post SHARED 1000 times, he will turn himself in to RTPD on his existing warrants, clean up blight on public school property, and bring us a dozen donuts. Donuts!!!! He promised us donuts! You know how much we love Donuts!" The post reached 1,000 shares in about an hour, and Zaydel, true to his word, turned himself in at 6:30 p.m. Monday. He brought police a box of doughnuts -- and one bagel. "He walked in on his own, and not only did he bring the donuts, he brought one bagel!" police wrote.
