Nick Sovechles, owner of Lexies on the Beach in Newcastle, New South Wales, said he initially thought the serpent was an abandoned toy when he spotted it curled up with a plant in the eatery's entryway on Sunday. William Marmulla, a trapper with Native & Feral Pest Management, arrived on the scene and bagged the snake. "Usually a brown snake would avoid humans, but today William Marmulla visited Lexies On The Beach to catch a [5-foot] eastern brown snake which gave a few patrons a bit of a surprise," Native & Feral Pest Management said in a Facebook post. "Now really, it probably only wanted a mocha and a mouse to share." Manager Vinny Sovechles said customers enjoyed the life entertainment. "A lot of the customers actually really enjoyed it, the kids really liked it," he said.
