July 6 (UPI) -- A man trying to enjoy his lunch outside in California was filmed arguing with a rude pelican that refused to take "no" for an answer.

The video opens with the man wagging his finger to reprimand the pelican perched next to his lunch on a deck in Fort Bragg.

"No, no," the man tells the bird, "You're bugging me."

"If you bite me, I will be so stinking mad," the man says, as the pelican ignores his warnings.

The pelican, apparently tiring of the lecture, snaps at the man, which leads him to issue a sharp rebuke.

"Stop it! Stop it! You go," the man says. "How dare you try to bite my face? I will bite your face."

The man attempts to ward off the pelican by squirting it with a water bottle, but the defiant bird simply opens its beak to catch a refreshing drink.
