June 21 (UPI) -- It took two sheriff's deputies in California to wrangle and restrain a llama on the loose along a rural road.

KTVU reported that the deputies, David Hollingsworth and Jordan Austin of the Solano County Sheriff's Office, rolled up on the side of the road to wrestle with the animal, as four other llamas watched nearby.

The sheriff's office posted dashcam footage of the encounter Monday to Facebook, calling the situation something "they don't teach you in the academy."

The sheriff's office said the deputies were able to return the llama safely back to its herd in Vacaville, Calif. -- between San Francisco and Sacramento.
