June 16 (UPI) -- A family in Florida called police to turn away an unexpected visitor when an alligator showed up outside their front door.

Broward County Sheriff's Office shared photos of the curious alligator as it curled itself up in the corner of the Parkland family's front porch on Thursday.

"This was one heck of a house call in Parkland!" Police said. "Check out how close this little guy got to the front door."

The 4-foot gator appeared outside the family's house at about 11 a.m. where it remained until a trapper was called to the scene.

The gator was seen with its mouth taped shut as it was captured and carried away by the trapper.
