April 20 (UPI) -- An Oregon sheriff's office took to Facebook with details of an unusual "escape" from the county jail -- nine ducklings and their mother.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said the mother laid her eggs inside the secure perimeter of the county jail and the ducklings hatched about four weeks ago.

"There was an escape today at the Clackamas County Jail!" the Facebook post read.

"Four weeks ago, nine baby ducklings were born inside the secure perimeter of the jail. Jail staff patiently waited for the ducklings to mature. Today they helped the mama duck escort her babies out of the secure portion of the jail and into a nearby pond.

We're told the mama duck and her nine baby ducklings are doing great -- and can be officially classified as 'escape artists.'"
