"Suspicious abandoned packages in Finland turned out not to be a bomb but 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of frozen cod," police wrote.

Police spokesman Peter Adlersson said the package was likely forgotten by an absentminded fisherman in the city known of its fishing and seafood.

"I don't know who the fish belongs to. I assume that someone has been out fishing and forgotten the parcel there. I don't know what happened with the cod after that," he said.
