Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe April 3 (UPI) -- A Michigan teacher didn't let the fact that April Fools' day fell on a Saturday keep him from pranking his students with a fake spelling quiz. Fourth-grade teacher Joe Dombrowski shared video to Facebook of the students grading their quizzes full of bogus words made up of "silent letters" such as "speekuzslmn" and "tangateen" on March 29. Advertisement "Gave a fake spelling test to the kids today as an early April Fools' joke..." Dombrowski wrote. The confused students groaned as their teacher rattled off example sentences featuring the bizarre made up words which featured hyphens and an umlaut. "Rol-aska-tox was surprised when jinx took the crown," Dombrowski told the children. "If you didn't get the hyphens I'm sorry you got that word wrong." He ended the quiz by having the children check their answers for a non-existent 11th spelling word, the phrase "April Fools." One student shouted that it wasn't even April yet, but Dombrowski quickly responded with one final joke. "Close enough," he said. "April Fools. Congratulations, turn in your tests. This will be on your report card."
