Lion lunges at tourist's car window in South African park

Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Visitors driving through a South African national park were startled when a lion outside their car window suddenly lunged forward.

The video shows the car stopped Jan. 10 in Kruger National Park so the filmer could capture footage of a lion sitting in the road right outside the car window.

The filmer moves the camera for a closer look, leading the lion to strike at the mostly-closed window.

The lion bounces off the glass, but the filmer is startled and jerks backward.

"Even though I hadn't thought that I was disturbing him too much, it reminded me to always be respectful of an animal's personal space," the filmer wrote.
