Escaped pig blocks traffic on Canadian road

Feb. 7 (UPI) -- An escaped pig caused a traffic jam in a Canadian neighborhood after deciding to take a stroll across a local road.

Altona Police Service shared a photo of the wandering pig that shutdown traffic along Center Avenue in Manitoba.

"The incident was reported to Police at 12:50 p.m. as the pig was blocking East/West Traffic along Center Avenue," police said.

Police managed to move the pig off the roadway and its owner eventually arrived and loaded the escaped animal back onto a trailer.

"It should be noted that the pig did not appear to have suffered any injures at this time," police said.
