Divers record great white shark attacking cage bars

Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A couple cage diving off South Africa captured the moment a massive great white shark repeatedly attempted to bite the bars of the cage in an apparent bid to get inside.

The couple said they were diving last month off Van Dyks Bays when the shark approached their protective underwater cage.

The video, recorded last month, shows the shark's impressive jaws and several rows of teeth as it bites at the metal bars.

"It [was] truly one of the greatest moments of our lives when we went within centimetres of a large Great White, one of the earth's true apex predators," the filmers wrote online.
