Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Three women hiking in an Australian national park found their path blocked by an unusual sight: a brawl between a large goanna lizard and a snake.

The women, identified only as Claudia, Abby, and Anna, said they were hiking Monday in Noosa National Park when they came across the unusual sight.

The reptile battle left one of the women unable to reach her compatriots -- at least, until the goanna dragged the snake off the path.

"After the goanna dragged the snake off the track we continued to hear them fighting. We don't know who won," the woman told Guardian Australia.
