MIAMI, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Several loose cows slowed traffic as they wandered around Florida's Turnpike on Tuesday morning.
Initially, one cow was seen wandering in the northbound lanes of the turnpike near Okeechobee Road in Miami-Dade, NBC Miami reported.
Several police officers responded to the scene to guide the bovine, who was walking with a limp, off the busy road, CBS Miami reported.
The cow briefly evaded capture before wandering into a nearby wooded area, only to emerge later to be secured by handlers.
As many as five more cows were seen in the area after the first cow was cleared, according to WSVN.
Traffic was slowed as a result of the incident, but was eventually cleared.
