MONMOUTH, Ore., Jan. 9 (UPI) -- An Oregon sheriff's office shared video of a stranded cow being pulled across a frozen pond with the help of "some quality lasso roping."

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that deputies responded Friday to a pond just outside of Monmouth, where a cow was stranded out on the ice.

Witnesses said the cow had wandered onto the ice and appeared to be unable to get back up after taking a fall.

"With the assistance of an officer with the Monmouth Police Department the owner was found. With some quality lasso roping the owner was able to pull the cow off the ice," the sheriff's office said.

The video shows the cow sliding across the ice after being lassoed by its owner.

"After a couple minutes the cow was able to gain it's footing and walk under its own power to the barn," the Facebook post said.
