ENSENADA, Mexico, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- A diver off the coast of Mexico said he was able to use his video camera to ward off a great white shark that came in for a close look.
The video, posted to YouTube by user Julian, shows the shark swimming nearby the diver off the coast of Ensenada in Baja, California, and making a sudden turn to get closer to the man.
The camera stays directly in front of the shark's face until it turns and swims in a different direction.
The diver said he used the camera to appear less appetizing to the shark.
"A great white shark makes a sudden turn and comes straight at the camera to investigate. I had to keep the camera in its face and guide it away," the man wrote.
