ENSENADA, Mexico, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- The diver who was briefly trapped inside a cage with a great white shark shared footage leading up to the uncomfortably close encounter.

Ming Chan, a Shanghai advertising executive, was miraculously unharmed earlier this month when a large great white shark broke into the underwater cage while he was inside of it off Guadalupe Island.

Chan posted video to Facebook showing the shark swimming around the diving cage in the lead-up to the incident, which was recorded on video by a witness standing on the boat outside the water.

Chan's footage shows a great white circling the cage and taking bait cast from the boat to draw sharks to the area around the diving cage.

The YouTuber who captured the footage of the shark breaking into the cage said instructors theorized the shark had accidentally broken into the cage while temporarily blinded during the feeding process.
