BEIJING, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- The end of China's Golden Week holiday celebrations have led to massive traffic jams, in some cases stretching over a distance of several miles.

A video filmed Thursday outside Beijing shows cars stretching for miles on a major bridge roadway with traffic going into the city at a near stand-still, while scant traffic travels in the other direction.

A second video from Huai'an, Jiangsu Province, shows an estimated 300 vehicles trapped Wednesday on a stretch of road where the Golden Week traffic was worsened by heavy fog closing down some major roads.

A traffic jam at the end of last year's Golden Week holiday involved thousands of cars being halted on a 50-lane road near the Hong Kong border.
