FUZHOU, China, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Shocked commuters in China captured video of a giant inflatable moon rolling through traffic when it was carried away by powerful winds.

The moon, one of several inflatable moons designed for revelers to take photos with amid cloudy weather during the Mid-Autumn Festival, came free of its perch Wednesday in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and ended up rolling over cars on a busy road.

The moon was carried by gusts from Super Typhoon Meranti, which had yet to make landfall in China Wednesday, but was sending powerful winds ahead of it.

Videos recorded by commuters show the moon rolling over and between cars on a packed road while pedestrians run for cover and witnesses inside the cars laugh in astonishment.
