Pizza roll fight ends in arrest for N.C. couple

GASTONIA, N.C., July 6 (UPI) -- A couple in North Carolina were taken into police custody after authorities say the two assaulted each other with pizza rolls.

According to police, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Independence Day when Brad Scott Beard, 24, and Samantha Brooke Canipe, 21, got into an argument and began throwing pizza rolls at each other.

Beard and Canipe share an apartment in Gastonia and their Facebook pages indicate that they are in a relationship.

It is unclear what caused the fight, how many pizza rolls were thrown during the incident, or what brand they were.

The couple were booked into the Gaston County Jail on Monday morning where Beard was charged with assault on a female and Canipe was charged with simple assault. Beard could face up to 60 days in prison while Canipe faces a lesser potential sentence of 30 days.
