Sassy store customer finds extra 25-cent charge 'a small price to pay'

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 15 (UPI) -- A Redditor shared a photo of a receipt purportedly from a store that added an extra 25-cent "Smartass Charge" to his total.

Brian C. Jackson of Rochester, N.Y., posted a photo to Reddit and Imgur that he alleges came from a June 10 purchase at an unnamed business.

The receipt lists five items labeled "misc." as well as a 25-cent "smartass charge."

The extra fee appears to have played into the store's tax calculation, bringing the total cost of his sass to $0.27.

"Apparently I was a Smartass today, it's a small price to pay," the Redditor wrote.
