DRAMMEN, Norway, June 15 (UPI) -- A Norwegian man filmed himself performing a number of recognized swimming styles backwards as a training exercise.

Eirik Ravnan said the backwards swimming exercise, which saw him performing various swimming strokes in reverse, was meant to help his agility.

"I urge everyone to try a little backwards swimming," he wrote on Facebook. "It is fun and a great way to show off at the pool."

The video shows Rvnan beginning his exercise by jumping into the pool while facing the opposite direction, before swimming to the opposite side while swimming backward.

After showing off the backward swimming, Ravnan reversed the video to make it appear as though he had been swimming normally the entire time.
