Man steals car tire, replaces it with his own

WUHAN, China, June 14 (UPI) -- Security cameras in a Chinese parking garage recorded a man exchanging one of his tires for one from another vehicle.

The video, filmed Wednesday in a parking garage in Wuhan, Hubei Province, shows the man park his car in the garage.

The man then retrieves tools from his car and goes to another vehicle parked in the garage.

The footage then shows the man driving away with one tire not matching the others.

Police discovered the tire had been taken from a car belonging to a man with the surname Xiong, who did not notice the theft until he had driven home because the man had replaced the stolen tire with one from his own car.

The reason for the tire exchange was unclear. Police said they were able to identify the man from his license plates, but that they have been unable to contact him.
