CORNWALL, England, June 14 (UPI) -- A sneaky kitten traveled about 300 miles after hitching a ride with a pilot in the Royal Navy.

Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose shared photos of the resilient feline after it was discovered inside the bumper of a pilot's car.

"The 'tiger striped' moggy was discovered by an 814 NAS pilot inside the bumper of his car, after he had travelled half the length the country," they wrote. "The Squadron are now on a special operation to reunite Tigger with his true owners."

Royal Navy pilot Lt Nick Grimmer told the BBC that he heard meowing while traveling from Birmingham to the Royal Naval Air Station in Culdrose before dismantling the bumper to find the kitten inside.

The members of the squadron, known as the Flying Tigers, decided to nickname the kitten "Tigger" and said that he was not harmed by the journey and even found a favorite spot on the base.

"The place he has felt most comfortable is in my flying helmet, which is the only place he is able to sleep," Grimmer said.
