Steve Badham posted a photo to Facebook showing the truck submerged up to its roof Sunday next to a boat in Waikawa Bay, near Picton. Advertisement "He was just pulling his boat out when .... Drama at the ramp," Badham wrote in the post. The Nelson resident said he snapped a picture of the scene when he returned from a fishing trip. "I just saw it and I thought, 'oh no,'" Badham told The Marlborough Express. "It's your worst nightmare when you've got a boat for that to happen." Badham said witnesses told him the truck, which was pulling the boat on a trailer, slipped on the boat ramp and ended up in the water when it jumped out of gear and was yanked downhill by the trailer. Badham said a tow truck was summoned to pull the pickup out of the water, but the light was fading and the vehicle remained submerged when he left.
