Tarpon jumps out of water to grab fish from woman's hand

KEY WEST, Fla., April 26 (UPI) -- A Florida woman holding a small fish over tarpon-filled waters narrowly evaded having her finger nipped when one of the massive fish grabbed the bait from her hand.

Aysean Beauchamp posted a video to YouTube showing what happened recently when she held a small fish out over a group of tarpon swimming next to a pier in the Florida Keys.

Beauchamp lowers and raises the small fish over the water to get the tarpon to come closer to the surface.

The plan ends up working a little too well when one of the tarpon suddenly leaps out of the water to grab the fish from her hand.

Beauchamp pulls her hand away quickly and manages to avoid injury from the fish's tiny teeth.
